gcagate adventures : Taylor's Blessed Adventure

I mostly blog about the Adventures of Gary and myself, however, this Adventure is just too precious to pass up and after all it goes along with our Haiti Adventures and well, this is my grand-daughter and she did a fantastic job!!!
It all started when she (Taylor) had to choose a Senior Project for her High School (Trinity). She chose to plan a Gala to benefit the children in Haiti who attend the BCD School of Hope on the GCA campus!!! What an undertaking of love!!! Taylor had joined us in Haiti twice in 2012 and then went again with her Youth Group in 2013. From her first trip you could see on her face the love she had for the children on the Campus.
Her desire with the Gala was to raise monies toward the School and its Children.
She planned and considered, contacted GCA, Donors, and created a Committee. She wrote and worked and planned some more!!
She had hoped that attendance for the event would be at least 100 people with a goal to raise $10,000 for GCA.
To our amazement the RSVP list became 173 and total monies raised after expenses was $21,000!!!! Not only that, there were connections that were made between Brian Kelso (President of GCA) and others that night who have an interest in assisting GCA in other ways!!!
God blessed this event beyond ours and Taylor's dreams and this event is a testament of what God can and will do when we are obedient to following what He has placed on our hearts.
Gary and I are beyond proud of Taylor for her desire to make a difference in the lives of the children in Mirebalais, Haiti. As Trinity's Headmaster mentioned, Taylor has had a sweet disposition and love for children all of her life and her Education has become her Vocation as she seeks to care for those in need.
Taylor set out on an Adventure back in the Spring of 2012 on her first trip to Haiti, without knowing where it would lead. What a beautiful blessing this Adventure has become, not only to those in Haiti but for those of us who have the privilege to sit back and watch it all unfold!!!
Thank you Taylor for being obedient to the call of the Spirit and for loving as Jesus loves!!
